PLASMIC score for TTP

Also called PLASMIC, TTP score, ADAMTS13 deficiency prediction

Likelihood of severe ADAMTS13 deficiency (TTP) in an adult with thrombotic microangiopathy, while ADAMTS13 results are awaited.

PLASMIC

0 / 7

Risk group
Low risk (0–4)

Low risk (0–4). Severe ADAMTS13 deficiency is unlikely; look for other causes of thrombotic microangiopathy.

Formula and scoring

1 point each: Platelets <30; Lysis (haemolysis); no Active cancer; no Stem-cell or solid-organ transplant; MCV <90; INR <1.5; Creatinine <2.0 mg/dL. 0–4 low, 5 intermediate, 6–7 high.

Exam and ward pearls

  • C statistic 0.96 in derivation and 0.91 in external validation (Bendapudi 2017).

When not to rely on it

  • Derived in adults with thrombotic microangiopathy in Boston, USA; not for children.
  • Item thresholds are quoted from the score creator's MDCalc page and a validation study that reproduces them; risk percentages per group are not shown because they could not be checked against the derivation table.
